Goji, Goji berry or wolfberry, is the fruit of Lycium barbarum. These trees produce a bright orange-red, elliptical berry 1–2 cm in diameter.
The number of berries varies widely, based on the variety and size of the fruit, containing 10-60 tiny yellow seeds, which are compressed with a curved embryo.
Goji berries are high in vitamins A and C and fiber and are low in fat. They are also a good source of iron (9mg per 100g, about 50% of RDA (recommended daily dose) and vitamin A (9000 IU per 100 g, about 180% of RDA).
Other characteristics are high protein levels (13% of the berry is protein, more than whole grain products).

It is used in Chinese herbal medicine for its beneficial properties in stimulating the function of the liver and kidneys. They benefit vision due to their high content of beta carotene, they are considered to be a powerful anti-aging food.
