Conservation Status

Identifying Features

The flowers of this species are pink-purple and clustered in 1" rounded heads.

The leaves are rounded, in threes with pale markings, and grow on hairy stems. The plants can grow to a height of 20".

Habitat & Range

This species grows in fields and on trail sides. It is native to Europe, but is now found extensively across North America, South America, and Asia. It is grown as a forage crop for livestock.

Life Cycle

The flowers bloom from May to September.

This species is an herbaceous biennial.
