This Volkswagen Golf/Rabbit Cabriolet got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1984 Volkswagen Rabbit convertible is finished in brown over two-tone upholstery and is powered by a 1.8-liter inline-four mated to a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes a cream soft top, 14″ wheels, a retrofitted carburetor, LED headlights, and an aftermarket CD stereo. The car was acquired by the seller reportedly in August 2022, and subsequent work is said to have included replacing the soft top, spark plugs, ignition cables, alternator, and seat upholstery along with refinish work and rust repairs on various panels. This Rabbit convertible is now offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title in the name of the seller’s LLC.
The car is finished in brown and features a replacement cream convertible soft top and LED headlights, both of which were reportedly installed in preparation for the sale. Rust repair is said to have been completed around the bumpers, doors, and right-front fender along with refinish work on the bumpers and moldings, and one of the rear mudflaps is missing.
Steel 14″ wheels are fitted with full covers and 185/60 Yokohama Avid H4S tires that are in need of replacement. Stopping power is provided by vented front discs and rear drums.
The front bucket seats and rear bench were reupholstered in preparation for the sale, and an aftermarket CD stereo is fitted. Rust repairs were reportedly performed on the door jambs.
The four-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a digital clock, and a tachometer with inset gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. Readouts for voltage, oil pressure, and oil temperature are mounted in the center stack. The six-digit odometer shows 124k miles, approximately 20 of which have been added by the selling dealer.
The 1.8L inline-four was converted from fuel injection to a single carburetor. The selling dealer reports replacing the spark plugs, coils, and alternator along with repairing the carburetor and cleaning the fuel lines.
Power is sent to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. Rust repairs were reportedly performed on the undercarriage which was subsequently painted.
Maintenance and warranty booklets are included in the sale.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Pennsylvania and Florida from an initial entry in July 1994.
