This 1996 Volkswagen Golf GTI four-door is a right-hand-drive Colour Concept example that spent time in the United Kingdom before it was acquired by the seller in 2021 and imported to the United States in 2022. Finished in yellow over yellow and black leather upholstery, the car is powered by a 2.0-liter SOHC inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes a sunroof, 15″ BBS wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, heated Recaro front sport seats, power windows, and a JVC CD stereo. Work performed under current ownership is said to have involved touching-up the front bumper cover, repairing the rocker panels, servicing the brakes, and replacing the air filter and spark plugs. This GTI is now offered with import documents, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
The Colour Concept model was offered in five colors, and this example left the factory finished in yellow (LD1B) with black trim. Features include a sunroof, a rear window wiper, tinted taillight lenses, Colour Concept badging, and power-adjustable heated mirrors as well as a twin-tip exhaust outlet. The seller reports that areas of the front fenders were repainted after rust was removed under previous ownership, and work in preparation for the sale reportedly consisted of touching-up the front bumper and repairing the rocker panels. Repairs and touched-up paint are visible on the front bumper cover, and the right-side rocker panel trim is cracked.
Silver-finished 15″ BBS “Solitude” wheels are mounted with a mixed set of Toyo Proxes tires up front and Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tires out back. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes that were reportedly serviced in preparation for the sale, at which time the brake fluid was flushed. Photos show cracks in the center caps.
The right-hand-drive cabin features heated Recaro front sport seats and a rear bench seat upholstered in yellow and black leather, which extends to the shifter, parking brake handle, and door panels. Appointments include a JVC CD stereo, rubberized floor mats, and power windows. The cargo area has a removable cover. Photos show wear in the upholstery.
The leather-wrapped airbag steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with an inset digital clock, which are flanked by gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 129k miles, approximately 2k of which have been added under current ownership.
The 2.0-liter AGG inline-four drives the front wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. The seller states that an oil change was carried out in preparation for the sale, at which time the air filter and the spark plugs were replaced.
Rust is visible on various underbody components.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and displays a single March 2023 entry in Florida.
