Dogo Argentino are happy, open and friendly dogs that rarely bark, perhaps because they find that their imposing stature achieves the necessary effect without much effort.

The Dogo Argentino is a compact and muscular dog with long legs. They are intelligent animals with quick reactions, although their walk is calm but firm and expressive.

These loyal and affectionate dogs are a stunning white color. In short, this breed possesses the physical prowess of a natural athlete. In tropical climates, its fur is fine and sparse, revealing pigmented areas. In cold climates, its coat is thicker and more dense, and it may have an undercoat.

Dogo Argentino specimens usually live between 10 and 12 years and weigh between 25 and 45 kilos when they are adults. They are tall, measuring between 55 and 70 cm in height.
According to the breed standard, this dog must be totally white but it is allowed to have a black or dark spot around the eye, as long as it does not occupy more than 10% of the head.
The dogo argentino is a fairly healthy dog. The most common diseases in the breed are hereditary deafness and hip dysplasia. They can also get sunburn. In addition, its thin coat makes it not very tolerant of cold, so in winter it should not sleep outdoors and it will be necessary to be careful when walking at that time of year.
