| Description |
English: Isofrequency map of haplogroup R-S28 in West-Europe. Isofrequency lines indicate the artificial limits (of the areas with various nuances of green) between the decreasing S28 values from the peak. Starting from a zone of high S28 concentration in southwestern France and in the north of Italy, frequency of this haplogroup decreases progressively towards north, west and east in the rest of West-Europe. The most elevated value of sub-haplogroup R-S28 frequencies (71%) corresponds to Grasse in France. Elevated values of R-S28 frequencies are found in the north of Italy (Torino: 63% and Milano: 54%); relatively important values concern the south of France (Montpellier: 55% and Corsica: 53%) and the rest of Italy (Roma: 45%, Calabria: 44%, Sicily: 36% and Sardinia: 31%). |
