Slovakia is ready to transfer MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine

The Slovak government is ready to transfer Soviet fighter planes to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

We are talking about MiG-29 planes. The Slovak Foreign Minister told this in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine. According to the minister, Slovakia is now negotiating with its NATO partners on how best to do this. Unfortunately, there is no timetable for the delivery of the fighters yet.

Flashback

The MiG-29 is a fourth-generation Soviet multirole fighter. It was the main multi-role fighter of the Warsaw Pact countries and the Soviet Union during the 80s of the XX century. Now the MiG-29 is in service in many countries, including Ukraine. It has more than 15 modifications. By the way, Slovakia has 11 aircraft in service: 9 MiG-29AS and 2 MiG-29UBS.
