Sometimes, no matter how much you imagine your picture-perfect wedding day, life has other plans for you. This was the case for Kyle and Savannah, whose entire wedding day was changed by one detail: her dress. Though she originally had a Pinterest board filled with traditional fall wedding decor, a yellow dress stole her heart and changed the trajectory of their wedding plans.
Their Nashville venue, Cedarwood Weddings, was the perfect backdrop for the brightened, fresh concept of a floral fall wedding. Photographers Brad and Jen beautifully captured the couple’s eclectic style in photos they’ll cherish for years to come.
Floral Joy
As natives of Nashville, it was important to Savannah and Kyle that they marry locally. Cedarwood’s all-inclusive wedding options made the venue especially appealing!
The bright yellow wedding invitations exuded Southern Charm in its darling details.
Following in the pattern of untraditional wedding attire, Savannah’s engagement ring is an emerald-cut black onyx. One special detail you won’t see here is “XIX” inscribed on the setting. These Roman numerals represent their dating anniversary (September 19th), wedding anniversary, and both of their birthdays!
We’ve always known we were each other’s beginning and end.
These Loeffler Randall Bow Heels are such a chic pairing with the yellow dress!
This is the dress that stole Savannah’s heart! The minute she saw it on Instagram, it was impossible to get out of her mind.
I tried on white dresses all day with that dress in the back of my mind that I had seen a week earlier. All plans changed after I said yes to that dress. I honestly never planned to be a non-traditional bride in anything other than white but something just clicked when I saw it.
Kyle was equally appropriately dressed in his dapper green suit! An open collar sans-tie perfectly represented his laid-back and eclectic style. The only tricky part was convincing him to wear a floral shirt without giving away the surprise of Savannah’s dress!
Savannah’s dress may be bright, but not as bright as their eyes for one another!
Savannah’s bridesmaids wore velvet green dresses to compliment her look. The best part is, they wore green to symbolize themselves as the “‘leaves” to her flower! How ADORABLE is that?!
Finally Getting Married
While they were originally slated to be married on the estate’s main field, rain redirected the couple to the pavilion. Everyone was able to enjoy the picturesque scene, without the rain!
We don’t have many young children in our family so I knew pretty early on I wanted our only living grandparent (my grandmother), to be our flower lady. She is super bashful, so I enlisted my brother, who is always ready to be the center of attention, to escort her. It ended up being perfect for us and our ceremony.
The pampas grass and greenery arch was meant to symbolize the yin and yang nature of Kyle and Savannah’s relationship. We couldn’t imagine a better representation of love when saying vows!
Congratulations to the bride and groom!
A Loving Reception
The seating chart was kept minimal with a black and white theme and miniature flower arrangements.
This hanging floral installation was one of the highlights of the reception! Not only that, but the couple’s ceremony arch was perfectly repurposed as the backdrop to their sweetheart table.
Our table numbers had pictures of Kyle and me from ages 1-18. For instance, table 3 showed and picture of me and Kyle when we were 3 years old.
As beautiful as the yellow dress is, it doesn’t hurt to have an outfit change for the reception! Savannah slipped into something a little more comfortable that allowed her to move around easily and dance with friends and family.
Did somebody call the ice cream man? These sweet treats were a much-welcome finale to the reception!
Kyle and Savannah’s getaway vehicle was one with tons of meaning. This Alfa Romeo Spider belonged to Savannah’s father way back in the 70’s – before she was even born! After decades of restoration, the car was finally in perfect condition to use for this incredibly special occasion.
Congratulations to Savannah & Kyle from the team here at GWS!
