Maruti Suzuki and Toyota India have entered a mutually beneficial collaboration. This alliance has formed to develop new products suitable for Indian buyers. We have seen multiple cars under the collab namely the Brezza and Urban Cruiser, Baleno and Glanza. This partnership is proving fruitful for both brands and is expected to break new ground in the affordable hybrid and SUV segment. Now the latest ones adopting this strategy are the Grand Vitara and Urban Cruiser HyRyder. With the prices of the Toyota already out, we had been waiting for the Grand Vitara’s pricing. With the pricing now out, Maruti is definitely aiming high with the Grand Vitara pricing.

Maruti Grand Vitara pricing – The shocking part

Maruti Grand Vitara pricing

Maruti usually prices its iteration lower than Toyota’s iteration. Now, what is surprising is that Maruti has priced its strong hybrid variants higher than the Toyota’s strong hybrid variants. Moreover, Toyota has made its strong hybrid variants more accessible, with the most affordable one coming in at Rs 17.75 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Maruti’s cheapest strong hybrid variant, Zeta+, comes in around Rs 21 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Maruti is definitely aiming higher with its strong hybrid variants. Maruti is definitely keen on establishing itself as a strong player in the premium SUV category as well. With more and more buyers now moving towards SUVs, the brand does not wish to fall behind the competition.

It has already been confirmed that Maruti is leading the sales chart by acquiring 55,000 bookings for the Grand Vitara. Being a Maruti, it is likely to outshine Toyota due to its larger service network and more showrooms. However, which brand do buyers prefer is something that we will get to know once the sales figures are out. Which one do you think is more lucrative? Do let us know in the comments.
