Princess Celestia is the princess of equestria. Her sister, Luna, rules along side her. Together, they bring harmony to ponykind. Celestia is around 10,000 years old. Since Celestia is an alicorn, she lives longer than unicorns, pegasi, and earth ponies. Princess Celestia has a flowing mane, mainly because she is an adult. When Luna was a filly, she called Celestia, Tia and Celie. Celestia lived with Luna in the castle of the 2 sisters. It was later on destroyed by Nightmare Moon.

 

One day, Star Swirl the Bearded told Celestia and Luna that he could not lower the moon. Originally, there were 6 unicorns required to lower the moon and raise the sun. But then, their magic ran out and there was only Star Swirl left. The morning that he came to Celestia and Luna, he tried to lower the moon, but he couldn’t. His magic ran out. He asked Luna and Celestia if they could use their magic to raise and lower the sun and moon. Because the princess’ are alicorns, their magic will not run out. Instead, their magic will grow stronger. As being asked by Star Swirl, they took to the sky. Luna lowered the moon and Celestia raised the sun. When they came back down, they had their cutie marks. Princess Celestia had a sun and Princess Luna had a crescent moon.
