  1. About Fish Species:

    • Scientific name: Tanichthys albonubes
    • Common name: Gold Cloud Minnow
    • Family: Cyprinidae
    • Origin: White Cloud Mountain, China
    • Adult length: 4 cm
    • Lifespan: 3 to 5 years
  2. Tank Setup:

    • Gold Cloud Minnows prefer a well-planted tank with open swimming areas. A tank size of at least 20L is suitable for a small group.
    • Provide a variety of plants like Java Moss, Java Fern, and floating plants to create hiding spots and mimic their natural habitat.
  3. Water Parameters:

    • Gold Cloud Minnows thrive in slightly acidic to neutral water conditions with a pH range of 6.0 to 8.0.
    • Maintain the water temperature between 18 to 24°C (64 to 75°F).
  4. Filtration and Water Flow:

    • They can tolerate gentle to moderate water flow, so choose a filter that provides adequate filtration without creating strong currents.
  5. Diet:

    • Gold Cloud Minnows are omnivores and will accept a variety of foods. Offer them a diet consisting of high-quality flake or pellet food supplemented with live or frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp.
    • Feed them small portions multiple times a day to prevent overeating and maintain water quality.
  6. Tank mates:

    • Gold Cloud Minnows are peaceful and can be kept with other small, peaceful fish species such as other minnows, small tetras, danios, and rasboras.
    • Avoid keeping them with aggressive or larger species that may outcompete or harass them.
  7. Behavior and Compatibility:

    • They are schooling fish and should be kept in groups of at least six individuals to feel secure and exhibit natural behaviors.
    • They are active swimmers and appreciate plenty of swimming space in the aquarium.
