Paul Rusesabagina: From high appetite for money to Power hunger and Terrorism.

The so called “Hotel Rwanda Rusesabagina Foundation” which was incorporated and approved in the State of Massachusetts in May 2005, was created to help the victims of the Genocide against Tutsi, according to its founder member Paul Rusesabagina following the success of Hotel Rwanda Movie which narrates the Genocide; the movie star Don Cheadle acted “the role” of Paul Rusesabagina.

The board of Hotel Rwanda Rusesabagina Foundation (HRRF) is composed of Paul Rusesabagina as the Chairman, Tatiana Mukangamije his wife as the treasurer, Claude Karambizi, his son-in-law, is a Director and James Nkunzimana, another Rusesabagina’s son-in-law, is a second Director. If the Foundation was created for the purpose of Rusesabagina’s family welfare, there would be no comment to make about its board composition.

But when Rusesabagina pretends that his Foundation is “engaged in helping the victims of Genocide in Rwanda and other instances of violence…”, it is obvious that this is only for his personal interests as he confessed in one of the conferences, as well as footing the bills for his political ambitions.

On 21 May 2014, ArcLight Hollywood had a special 10th anniversary screening of "Hotel Rwanda," which was followed by a Q&A with Paul Rusesabagina. He lied to his audience like he did in all his tours around the world and said that, “My wife and I started Rusesabagina Foundation in order to pay school fees for orphans of genocide. We did this but it didn’t please the government. Some of the children I supported were put in prison because I paid school fees for them. The Foundation now advocates for a true reconciliation in Rwanda like it happened in Burundi and South Africa.”

Rusesaganina resorted to conman ship and lied to justify thousands of dollars he amassed in the last ten years riding on the fame of the “heroism made in holly wood”.

In his speeches, Rusesabagina tried to absolve the genocidaires while continuing to diabolize Tutsi victims. He even went further and acted as a defender of notorious genocidaires including General Augustin Bizimungu and George Rutaganda who was the Vice President of Interahamwe during their trials at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) in Arusha, Tanzania.

Rusesabagina calls himself an ordinary man in order to swindle dollars. The so-called ordinary man has amassed so much wealthy, driving a Mercedes Benz CI-Class (Vin # WDDDJ72X68413260) living in a $670,430 six-bedroom house located at  (315 Pleasant Knl., San Antonio, TX 78260) next to his friend  and former Texas Senator Kruger,  in a suburb of the City of San Antonio. He is known to possess other properties in Belgium and Zambia.

After his arrest, the adopted daughter, Carine Kanimba left USA and went to live in Belgium to oversee and coordinate her father’s businesses in Belgium and other countries.

Owing to his holly wood earned popularity, Rusesabagina proclaimed himself as a humanitarian and activist, but in reality it was a cover for doing politics and sponsoring armed groups as it was revealed by the Rwandan prosecution in 2010, that he was sponsoring the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR) militia. As early as 2008, his name appeared among the telephone contacts of Ignace Murwanashyaka, who was the president of FDLR who came to be arrested in Germany.

Rusesabagina wanted an official entry into politics and joined Rwanda National Congress (RNC), a terror group led by Kayumba Nyamwasa which he left in March 2012, due to conflicts with Nyamwasa over leadership of RNC and financial management.  Later on he created his own political camp named PDR-Ihumure and vowed to remove the legitimate government of Rwanda by all means. During his interview with Agnes Mukarugomwa of Ikondera Info in 2014, Rusesabagina said that there is no option to talk with President Kagame. And he quoted former US Secretary of State John Kerry by saying, “I like peace and if war is needed to have it, I will fight.”  Asked by Agnes Mukarugomwa when they will launch the war, Rusesabagina said “none can reveal his plans.  When you are playing cards you only show the card you are going to play. The war option is the card we reserve to our members and friends.”

Further, during a press conference in Belgium that talked about MRCD, alongside Faustin Twagiramungu, Rusesabagina had this to say; “We started MRCD in November 2016. It was a coalition of CNRD Ubwiyunge which was led by Wilson Irategeka and PDR Ihumure led by me (Paul Rusesabagina). After a long discussion we set five pillars under one platform. The first pillar is what is being carried out by our boys in Rwanda, the second was diplomacy, the third was mobilization, the fourth was communication and the fifth was finance. We workedtogether and in the end of 2017, our brothers from RRM (Callixte Nsabimana)wanted to join us. After a long discussion, RRM was accepted in March 2018 andwe were successful in our executions and that’s when we started askingourselves what name we will give to our soldiers.”  

Thereafter, we carried out a meeting between CNRD Ubwiyunge, PDR Ihumure and RRM, and decided to name the coalition FLN in May 2018. That was the first time the name “FLN” was declared.  We called them FLN because RRM brought its soldiers as well, which meant we had to get an inclusive name. Since then, our boys were named FLN and that’s why FLN doesn’t belong to PDR, CNRD or RRM, it is under MRCD.”

When FLN’s Spokesperson Callixte Nsabimana claimed responsibility of the Nyabimata attacks that claimed the lives of nine innocent people and injured ten others, Charles Kambanda, the so-called lawyer of the opposition said that Rusesabagina and his colleagues made a big mistake. “Rusesabagina and Callixte Sankara did it to get sympathy and money from some diaspora members. They didn’t know they are incriminating themselves.”

From extorting money from people who had taken refuge in Mille Collins in 1994, to turning himself into a “Rwanda Holly wood hero, who saved Tutsis” and soliciting money from unsuspecting foreigners by fundraisers through HRRF with the false pretense of assisting genocide orphans, Rusesanagina was able to make his living in luxury far different from that of an ordinary man he claimed to be or the life of a taxi driver, that he was in Brussels after leaving Rwanda.

After getting money and fame Rusesabagina looked for political power and felt he could make it as the President of Rwanda by all means and he formed and sponsored an armed terror group the “Rwandan Liberation Front” or “Front de Liberation National” (FLN). However, his political ambitions and practice to travel in style like a head of state by using private jets landed him where he never expected to be on his own. Ironically, he denied belonging to the country yet his greatest ambition was to be its president! No wonder because in holly wood movies, that’s how fake hero end up.
