The Slovak authorities finally agreed to the transfer of 10 of the 11 Soviet-made MiG-29 fighters available to the Kiev regime. This is reported by the Associated Press, referring to a statement by Slovak Defense Minister Jaroslav Nagy.
Currently, 11 Soviet-made MiG-29 fighters are in service with the Slovak Air Force. They plan to be decommissioned from the country's Air Force. Defense Minister Yaroslav Nagy allowed the transfer of 10 aircraft to Ukraine, as the eleventh MiG-29 was reserved by the national museum.
The decommissioning of Soviet-made aircraft from the Slovak Air Force takes place in the context of the modernization of the country's armed forces in accordance with NATO standards. Therefore, Nagy noted, the transfer of aircraft to Ukraine will save the air vehicles themselves from disposal and at the same time allow the Kiev regime to somewhat strengthen the power of its air forces.

Instead of the MiG-29, Slovakia acquires 14 American-made F-16 Block 70/72 fighters. The contract with the United States has already been signed, and Soviet fighters have been in conservation since the summer of 2022. It will be easier for Ukrainian pilots to use the MiG-29, since they are trained to control such aircraft.
Russia has repeatedly stated that any supplies of weapons and military equipment to the Kiev regime only complicate the situation in Ukraine, as they contribute to the prolongation of the conflict.
