Human being equals potential. Granted, we're not superheroes with superpowers. Yet the powers that we have are not minor, and we all have to find our way in life, discovering what we should do with what we have.

Hiro is my favorite, he's so like most of us, flawed, weak at times, resolute and strong at other times, passionate, dedicated, and always wants to do what's right. But I also think the actors in the TV series are perfectly cast. And the result is magic.

This is beautifully made, drawn, colored. You won't find better comic art that this, certainly on a level with "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns" by Frank Miller, Klaus Janson and Lynn Varley or "Watchmen" by Alan Moore. It is a joy to pick up and read or just browse through. Also, it adds some vital background information to the stories.

If you like the TV series, this book is highly recommended to you.

This graphic novel is exactly what I've been waiting for! I religiously followed the comic on NBC's Heroes page, and always hoped that they would be released as a graphic novel. The feel of the book is pulp comics - all of the "Isaac Mendez" work is shown as the "cover" of a 50's - 60's era pulp comic (including some 9th Wonders covers from the show) and the index page looks like the old time Wendy's tables. As usual, Alex Ross does an amazing job with the cover art and shows the characters in photographic realism. The comics themselves do are an excellent addendum to the show - including some character tie ins that aren't mentioned in either of the first two seasons of Heroes. I can't wait for volume 2!

Season One of "Heroes" is an addicting, adrenalin-laced joyride of a TV show: one filled with great special effects superceded only by the creation of characters we really care about. The "Heroes" graphic novel (graphic short stories??) presented in this volume are the type of product first appearing in media fanzines and called "incidental music." They are basically short stories that explain in more detail some of the events occurring on stage -- or rather, on your TV screen. I read the entire book within an hour, and wished it could have gone on for hours longer. Characters cut out of necessity in the TV show ('Wireless', for example) have a very real presence here. Actions that might have seemed somewhat ambiguous are more delineated here. I agree that the book might not mean that much to someone who has not seen the show, but for someone who has, this multi-dimensional treatment adds immeasureably to consumer enjoyment.

In short, if you loved -- or even if you only enjoyed -- "Heroes", do yourself a favor and pick up this book.

I am obsessed with it show heroes, and I got this to read along with my rewatch. This book fills in so many holes and back stories that give me a better understanding of the characters and the show. I can’t wait to get the next books!

This book is really good the actual inside chapters (which are really short) are themed after the comic books that Isaac Mendez writes in the first season. Came in great condition. If you are a big Heroes fan than this is a definite buy. If you don't even watch the show this will make no sense to you and will be pointless to buy.

I had heard a lot about how this book filled in the details, making a lot of background story for the show make a lot of sense and filling in plot holes spectacularly. It is a bit of a shame, though, that there couldn't have been even more stories included in this book. It was a very fast read, and while just as bloody as the show itself, it certainly did a lot with what little it had to work with. I'm only hoping that the Generations graphic novel is that much better.

This is a graphic novel for the CBS television show Heroes. It provides background stories not shown on tv with colorful and amazing artwork done by many different artists with different styles. If you're a fan of the show, I definitely recommend this book. There are more volumes on their way out too show be sure to look for them.

I really liked how this book came. It was wrapped up in plastic so it could be kept as a collectors piece. I gave it as a gift and when he opened it, the graphics were unbelievable. I think that everyone in our family wanted to borrow it. I love the book! Too bad I couldnt read it before I gave it :(

This book is amazing...i got it thinking it would just be a bunch of stories connected to heroes...but it is so much more, it's like a collection of all the copies of 9th Wonders we've never seen...ever wondered how the petrelli's are linked to Linderman, or how Eden came to exist? Any heroesfan will not be disappointed, it's like holding a piece of Isaac's work in your hands!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Un bon complément pour la série télévisée.
Reviewed in France on December 16, 2007
