Veronika Novakova

I am from a country in the heart of Europe - the Czech Republic, where I studied at an art gymnasium for eight years. I have a great passion for exploring new places in the world. I have lived in several countries around Europe and I am a sociologist with a profound interest in psychology, human rights, gender equality, philosophy, and basically any knowledge related to society.

I draw inspiration from Modern Art styles, namely Art Nuevo, Art Deco, Pop Art, Abstract Expressionism, Surrealism, Symbolism, and Orphism. My favourite artists are El Lissitzky, Franz Kline, Frantisek Kupka, Giorgio de Chirico, Tamara de Lempicka, Georgia O'Keeffe, Francoise Nielly, and Geoffrey Johnson.

I have a classic art school education, so I enjoy using traditional techniques such as acryl or oil on canvas the most. However, I like to experiment too. I make my paintings plastic adding the actual 3D effect or I also often use gold highlights to make the colours pop.
