This is the most current model (V3) Gemme Audio Tanto Katana speakers with V-flex Technology.

This is a demo pair, rated 8/10 due to some minor marks on Piano Black finish of speaker cabinets and separate external crossover box. Speakers also include custom upgraded, external crossovers (see below) which dramatically improve the sound.

The Gemme Tanto Katana are a two way loudspeaker utilizing some of the finest, reference level ceramic drivers available today. A top of the line 1.2" Accuton ceramic dome tweeter is perfectly mated with a matching 6.5" Accuton ceramic woofer/midrange all mounted in an extremly well braced and stylish custom cabinet in a piano black finish.

Speakers also include custom external crossovers that Audio Revelation has substantially upgraded using a computer aided design by Madisound and premium parts. Sure enough, this turned out to be a fantastic move as the sound quality jumped up dramatically. You won't believe how smooth and enjoyable these speakers are to listen to but wait, there's more!! Plenty of resolution, totally engaging, and bass you will not believe. Everyone who's heard them insists we must have a subwoofer on when we don't!  VFlex technology:

Described as a horn/transmission-line hybrid technique, VFlex refers to the loading strategy Gaboury has developed to enhance the low-frequency output of the type speaker he favors: a smaller enclosure with a single and/or smaller drivers. According to Gemme, a VFlex speaker has a compression chamber behind its midbass driver, and the horn's throat is at the end of the chamber. The horn, said to be about 6' long, is obviously folded within the cabinet. Unlike a typical horn, in which the mouth of the horn is large, in a VFlex speaker the horn ends in a "bandpass device" -- basically, a rear-firing port -- that acts as a low-pass filter. Inside is a reflector plate that directs the movement of air to the bandpass device. According to Gemme, the end result in the Tanto Katana is broad bass reinforcement from about 20 to 150Hz.

The VFlex bass port also offers flexibility by means of a tuning ring. Removing or inserting this ring alters the diameter of the port, and thus the amount of bass reinforcement. The user can use the ring or not, depending on how the Katana interacts with the room.
