Coasts: The Costa Dorada
The Costa Dorada is located on the Mediterranean coast of Spain, roughly between Barcelona and Salou.
The 20 towns that make up the Costa Dorada cover an area 216 kilometres long.
There are 786 hectares of spacious beaches, with clean fine sand and shallow water. This type of beach makes the area popular with families and elderly people.
Between the sea and the mountain range there are rural areas with peaceful towns and farmlands, vineyards, olive groves and hazel and almond trees.
The whole area has the capacity for over 500,000 tourists and receives around 3,500,000 visitors each year.
