Teen Harry Potter actor caught with cannabis plants after police see pictures of drugs on his digital camera
Harry Potter star Jamie Waylett, who plays Hogwarts bully Vincent Crabbe in the hit films, today admitted growing ten cannabis plants in his bedroom.
The tubby 19-year-old actor was arrested in April this year after police stopped him and a friend in an Audi car in London.
The officers thought he'd been taking photos of them, the court heard.
Harry Potter actor Jamie Waylett leaves Westminster Magistrates Court today after pleading guilty to growing 10 cannabis plants in tents at his mother's home
After searching Waylett they found pictures of bushy cannabis plants on a digital camera.
A further search of the Audi found Waylett's friend John Innis, 20, had eight bags of herbal cannabis and a butterfly knife in his possession.
Waylett immediately confessed to officers that the cannabis in the photographs was in his bedroom and they went straight to the home in Kilburn, north-west London, where he lives with his mother.
A search uncovered two tents in the bedroom with four small cannabis plants and six large ones inside, prosecutor Victoria Oja told City of Westminster Magistrates Court.
She added: 'He admitted purchasing seeds and growing them into plants. He confirmed it was for personal use at the time.'
Waylett, who was charged by police last week, pleaded guilty to one count of producing cannabis on his first court appearance today. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 14 years in prison.

Dressed in a black suit and sky-blue shirt, he sat with his head bowed in the dock as after admitting the offence.
His lawyer pleaded with a judge not to send him to jail for the sake of his career.
Innis, of Barnet, North London, pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and possession of a knife.
District Judge Timothy Workman adjourned the case until next week for probation reports before sentencing.
But he warned the pair: 'Clearly the production of cannabis is a serious matter, as indeed is the possession of knives.
'I'm not giving you any promises as to how the court will deal with the case.'
Cheryl Rudden, defending Waylett, told the court: 'He has co-operated fully. He is a young man in the public eye and he has of course done something which is far from approved of in society.
'What I would not want you to do is make an example of him in that way.
'The effect on him is such that there are possible issues as to his future within his field.'
Waylett has appeared as a sidekick of Hogwarts villain Draco Malfoy in all of the Harry Potter films. The latest instalment in the series, Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, went on general release yesterday.
The actor, who was supported in court today by his grandfather, will be sentenced along with Innis, next Tuesday, July 21, at the same court.
According to Home Office guidelines, the maximum punishment for producing cannabis is 14 years in jail.
Both were released on bail until then.
