Smallville actress Laura Vandervoort has admitted that she wishes her character Supergirl's story had ended differently on the series.
Vandervoort played Kara Kane in season 7 of the DC Comics show, returning for guest spots in season 8 and 1o.
Speaking at New York Comic-Con's Smallville reunion panel, the actress said she felt her character was never really given "closure" on the show.

"I have said publicly before that I wish Kara was in more of the finale, at the wedding... she didn't really have closure," Vandervoort said.
"She just sort of flew off and we never saw her again. It would have been nice for myself personally and I think for the character to have goodbyes. I didn't have any proper goodbyes."
Vandervoort went on to say that she wishes the show had explored more of Kara's story, even though she was never meant to be a central character.
"I think they could have explored more of her personal storyline," she continued. "She was always – obviously, as she should be, it's Smallville – involved with Clark's story, but we never really got to know her except when she had amnesia.
"That was an opportunity to explore who she was outside of that character because she was a blank slate. But otherwise, you know, it's the story of Clark Kent and Lex Luthor and I like how they peppered her in.
"It just would have been nice to see more about her personally."
Post-Smallville, Vandervoort would end up continuing her connection to Kara, appearing in three episodes of the Supergirl series as supervillain Indigo/Brainiac 8.
Supergirl airs on Sundays at 9/8c on The CW in the US. Sky One and NOW TV air the show in the UK.
