Sunflower bridal bouquet

Jen and Charlie’s August wedding at Hayne House definitely had a light, bright and sunny feel. Bride’s often shy away from yellow, but not Jen, she really wanted to bring the sunshine in.

Hayne House is such an amazing airy open space, a blank canvas to create something truly magical and that is exactly what Jen and Charlie did. We filled it will stunning Sunflowers… It really was a sight to behold!

I met Jen and Charlie a number of times in the build up to their big day. We had an initial consultation in my Studio, followed by lots of emails back and forth, but it wasn’t until our site visit to Hayne House that Jen and Charlie really decided what they wanted. We sat in the Orangery surrounded by stunning natural light beaming in through the large windows and decided that yellow and sunshine was definitely the way to go.

Jen carried a small rounded posy filled with white and yellow flowers, build around her favourite, the Sunflower. The white flowers were also beautiful choices, with Scabious, Lisianthus, Tanacetum (Daisy) and Waxflower. There were plenty of gorgeous textures, with fluffy Astilbe, leaves of velvety Senecio foliage and little yellow balls of Craspedia to finish everything off. The yellow looked absolutely beautiful against the navy of the Bridesmaid’s dresses and after a wet start to the day, the sunshine even made an appearance too!

You will not be surprised to know that Charlie also had a Sunflower buttonhole… I told you we put them everywhere! We used the gorgeous Sonja variety, as they are perfectly formed and small enough to sit on a lapel.

Sunflower summer tablecentre

The table centrepieces were an absolute favourite of mine – all foam free, natural and abundant, with a meadow, garden feel. Jen wanted to be able to give them away to her guests as gifts, so each one was self-contained in a little wooden create. Using chicken, water and moss gave the arrangements freedom and a relaxed look, with the foliage spilling out the sides. We used soft fluffy lime green Alchemilla Mollis to really make the yellow sing and give a stunning summery feel. I particularly loved the way the Rudbeckia and Scabious danced above the other flowers.

Jen has been an incredible supporter of me and my business, and I will be forever grateful to have been part of her incredible day. She brings her lovely Mum and Mother-in-law to my Christmas workshops, and we have the best time catching up and reminiscing.

Rebecca did all the flowers for my wedding and it is impossible to put into words how happy I was with her work. They looked out of this world and they were absolutely perfect for our theme. I honestly could not have asked for anything more, from hair clips and buttonholes to bouquets and centre pieces, everything was just perfect. Rebecca’s work is outstanding and the mood boards she creates make it so easy to understand and visualise what the final design will be like. She offered hours of consultation to make sure I got exactly what I wanted.

With the biggest thanks to
