Biostar Unveils Its First Windows Vista Certified Mainboards

BIOSTAR launched the NF61S Micro AM2 SE and P965 775 motherboards with Window Vista logo. Both NF61S Micro AM2 SE and P965 775 meet the criteria of Windows Vista and provides the unmatched 3D and Audio experience. This Certified for Windows Vista logo helps customers to identify devices that meet standard quality and compatibility of Microsoft's next generation OS. More BIOSTAR models for AMD and Intel platforms will be certified continually.


NF61S Micro AM2 SE is using NVIDIA MCP61S(GeForce6100 + nForce400) Chipset which supports a single PCI Express x 16 slot with PCI Express x 8 Speed, one PCI-Express x1 and 2 x PCI slots. There are two SATA2 ports onboard with support for RAID 0 and 1. Ethernet is up to 10/100 too. USB ports have been expended to eight USB 2.0 ports as well. And the two main features of the BIOSTAR NF61S Micro AM2 SE are intergraded Graphics with 256MB shared Memory and 6 channel HD Audio to give you the best Windows Vista experience.

P965 775 is using Intel P965 chipset supporting Intel Core 2 Duo processors to deliver incredible performance and innovative capabilities for digital home consumers. P965 775 has 4 memory slots and supports dual channel DDR 533/667/800MHz Max. Support up to 8G memory, 1 x PCI-E X16, 1 x PCI-E X4, 3 PCI extension slots, 4 x SATA2 3Gb/s, 1 x GbE LAN, 10 x USB2.0 ports. If you're smart enough to build your own system, don't you think you'd also be smart enough to check the minimum and recommended system requirements of Vista before you build?

I wonder how much Biostar had to pay to "qualify for the certification".
